Our Story | Roberts Ferry Gourmet

A Rich (and Tasty) History

From developing new caramel popcorn creations and confections (and yes, we taste-test everything), to working one-on-one with customers to create memorable gift baskets for friends or clients, we are all about premium quality. Our delicious gourmet products are locally-sourced and made right here in California.

RFNC has always been family-owned and operated, and today it’s our family – the sixth generation to grow up in Roberts Ferry – that runs the business. We’re both proud and excited to be carrying on RFNC’s rich (and delicious) traditions, and introducing our wonderful products to a whole new audience.

A Rich Past

Founded in 1983 by Bill and Phyllis Mallory in the historic California gold rush community of Roberts Ferry, RFNC’s Country Store became a popular destination for folks around California visiting nearby Turlock Lake, Modesto Reservoir and Lake Don Pedro, and people from around the world visiting nearby Yosemite National Park.

Visitors couldn’t wait to indulge in our famous milkshakes and sample the newest goodies, previously branded under the “Wedding Time Products” brand. RFNC products became so popular that many entertainment venues, hotels and travel destinations began to carry them – and still do to this very day!

Fast forward to 2015

Our family, sisters Stacey Kollmeyer and Kim West, joined by Kim's husband Nic West, decided to purchase the business and carry on the tasty traditions. As sisters, we have fond memories of working summer jobs at RFNC, and we're committed to keeping RFNC going and growing in our community. In fact, the 7th generation of our family is attending Roberts Ferry School across the street from our store and offices.

Becoming Roberts Ferry Gourmet

In 2021, Roberts Ferry Nut Company was renamed Roberts Ferry Gourmet. Since 1984 Roberts Ferry Nut Company perfectly summarized the types of goodies you could expect to find when you visited our country store and website. Our offerings started to expand in 2015 when the business changed hands, and since then the name didn't clearly express all that we had to offer. We went in search of a name for our business that recognized its history and local heritage, and that also better communicated the wide range of gourmet goodies our customers find when they shop with us: Roberts Ferry Gourmet was the result of that work.

We’re delighted to celebrate and share with you the delicious bounty of California’s agricultural food basket through creating awesomely delicious goodies, and look forward to surprising you with exciting new creations.
